They
"They" is an experimental short, using archival footage, about one person's journey through their fluid and loose gender expression. The film experiments with our ideas about portraiture, by relating to the hybridization between female and male aspects of an individual. "They" in this project, explored gender-neutral, gender-inclusive or epicene pronouns are pronouns that neither reveal nor imply the gender or the sex of a person.
Ignacio Rivera is a Queer, gender-shifting, Trans- Entity, Black Boricua, lecturer, activist, filmmaker and performance artist.
As a filmmaker, Ignacio debuted their first experimental short, "Crossing" in August of 2007. "Crossing" is an experimental adult short about crossing the realm of normality and kink. It is a narrative short that explores opinions on negotiation, communication and kink.
Ignacio has recently shared their new short, "They". It was viewed at Mix New York City Queer Experimental Film Festival, in October 2008. "They", is an experimental short, using archival footage, about one person's journey through their fluid and loose gender expression.
Ignacio's up and coming project is called "Shades of Kink". It is a documentary that focuses on queer people of color who navigate the Kink world. The film sets to discuss a race and gender political analysis of kink.
