Filmmaker Bio: Alison Alpert is a 32 year old queer Jew born in Brooklyn, raised in Scarsdale and Hartsdale, and refined in the Midwest. She currently teaches GED classes to rowdy brilliant teenagers and is working on applying to medical school so that she can assist teenagers in better understanding and healing their bodies. She recently finished her first novel, FRACTURE, and is looking for a publisher. LEAVING is her first video.
Film Description: For a narrator whose mortality has been made real by the suicide of a friend, leaving a relationship means facing oblivion, the terror of being left, and her own capacity for self destruction. She struggles to understand what it means to leave.
